From step one he took care of everything. one day prior, Francis came to the hotel to make sure we have... read more all the necessary staff for climbing, and indicate what equipment we don’t have and need to rent- all of that was done to make sure we will have the best hiking with zero faults. The hike was amazing- the night of the summit was a little bit harder than the other days, but thanks to Francis all of us reached the summit. He walked with us slowly slowly (polepole) all the way up, made needed stops and helped us to carry the little bags when it became harder. Francis was knowledgeable- he explained us a lot about the area, the history of the region and also give recommendations about the fever. We felt safe because every day he measured our pulse and give a brief to the next day.
‏Francis climbed the Kilimanjaro more than hundred times but from his excitement you may think that every time is the first time that he’s doing this adventure. Francis is professional guide, attentive, friendly, caring, energetic and has a kindly sense of humor. He will also be more than happy to teach Swahili words if u want. When I was back to Israel I invest excitedly all the experience to my family and made my sister want to make the same journey, so she promised that in June she will come to climb the Kilimanjaro with Francis. In Francis (and his company) we trust - With Francis, we had an amazing one-day hike to Kilimanjaro, but I have to say that experience started already before the trip. One day prior, Francis came to us to... read more brief us on the itinerary, weather, and equipment (the hike was a part of a longer tour booked with another tourist agency). Some of us lacked proper warm clothes, shoes of suitable size, and water bottles, and Francis very kindly found a solution for all our difficulties! He brought extra clothes, and extra bottles, and checked several rental shops to find appropriate boots... so, he did an excellent job in bringing to the minimum the factors that could possibly negatively affect our experience. We felt well taken care of and safe.
The hike was great too - not only did Francis warn us about any possible dangers, but he also told us a lot about the flora and fauna, the history of the region, etc.
This experience with Francis made me wish to one day finish what we started - climb to the top. And when I do it, I will do it only with him.
